Our Story
Amilinda is owned and operated by Gregory León
Gregory the executive chef can be found on the kitchen line cooking every night.
Gregory was born in Tulsa, OK, however, at the age of 5 Gregory’s father decided to move the family to his native country, Venezuela.
In ’89 the family came back to the United States and Gregory began his culinary career shortly thereafter.
Moving to San Francisco he spent 18 years cooking and consulting in San Francisco restaurants like Poesia, Mirtille and Horatius, with a few stints in Madrid, Spain.

FIRST POP-UP
Amilinda hosts and sells out their first pop-up dinner in December 2013. The pop-ups continue throughout the city through June 2014.

POP-UP HOME
Nell Benton, the owner of The National Cafe rents her space to Amilinda every Saturday creating a semi-permanent home for the pop-up.

DESIGN
Designed and built by Orry Leon a graduate of the Illinoise Institute of Art. Amilinda’s interior draws inspiration from that of Spain & Portugal. From the Gaudi style wall murals and exposed brick to the Portuguese Roosters scattered throughout.
